All workshops begin with a short, yet special Ceremony of song, invocation, and smoke blessing. Ana and Medicine Man, Jose Calarco, set the intent for the practice and honor the ancestors and custodians of our sacred land.

 

Friday, May 26 at 5:30 pm:    Tame the Pain

Many of us are plagued by chronic pain and injuries. With Forrest Yoga you explore what works to alleviate your pain, break the injury cycle and facilitate healing. You will use specifically directed breath and asana to take the fear out of using injured muscles. Learn how to give fresh blood, oxygen and nerve energy to the painful area to unclog toxins, tension and alleviate your pain. Pain is a desperate call for help. Learn to pay attention to this cry of pain, explore what helps the area in pain. Relax your attitude enough to experiment with what works in order to build a repertoire of healing, strengthening poses. You learn to practice your yoga with a quality of attention and care that teaches you to befriend those areas that hold pain, instead of isolating them. Then, gradually you breathe free the trapped energy and release the pain. Learning how to free yourself from pain is an incredible empowering gift to give yourself.

Saturday, May 27 at 9:30 am:   Unraveling the Mysteries of the Hips, Neck & Shoulders

In this Forrest Yoga session, you learn to create freedom and strength in hip, neck, and shoulders.  You will learn to safely unlock these habitual tension spots through intenseily focused breathwork and asana (inclduing some inversions, standing poses and vinyasa). Strengthen and lengthen the muscles around these joints and create space in these areas. This work helps you walk through your life with grace and freedom.

Saturday, May 27 at 2:00 pm:   Romance Your Spirit Ceremony & Music Healing

We often live in a way that entraps our Spirit and confines it to a small space within our body. Experience Forrest Yoga meditation exercises, chants, music healing, and a dharma talk to create a safe space for your Spirit to live more freely and fully in your body. You will strengthen your relationship with your Spirit and walk through life as your Spirit dictates. This is a 2.5-hour workshop that includes about 1.5-1.75 hours of asana.

Sunday, May 28 at 9:30 am:    Fascinate on Your Internal Wilderness

Embark on a journey into the depths of yourself and savor the opportunity to get curious about whay you carry within.  In this workshop you will develop skills that stregthen your quality of atttention to yourself. You will learn to be receptive to when your practice is dull and use that to unearth something new about yourself.  Build a good, high quality realtionship with your Spirit to grow more acceptance, awareness and self-respect. Uncover the beauty and stregth that lies within.
