Friday, 6/28 at 5p: Hips & Pelvic Floor
This workshop works with exercises using resistance bands and yoga blocks to strengthen the hamstrings, feet, & pelvic floor to support the entire spine when backbending. after strengthening, we’ll look at splits, over splits, and active middle split exercises.
Saturday, 6/29 at 12p : core & shoulder stability
This workshop uses multiple exercises to help rehabilitate and develop the triceps, rotator cuffs, and other areas, to strengthen shoulder support in backbends. Following strengthening work, the class works to stretch the shoulders in techniques drawn from the Ghosh lineage and contortion stabilization work. It is open to all levels!
Sunday, 6/30 at 12p : Advanced backbending
this workshop draws from yoga and contortion techniques to strengthen the pelvic floor and core to support deeper backbending positions. the workshop looks at lunges, bridge variations, cobras, & chest stands. it is open to those familiar with these positions, and also to students unfamiliar, as there will be steps along the way suitable for all levels.
